Somdev Devvarman progressed to the singles quarter-finals of the ATP South Africa Tennis Open with a straight sets win over giant killer Jesse Huta Galung in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

Three seeded players, including top seed and world number 33 Feliciano Lopez of Spain, were knocked out on Wednesday from the ATP 250 tournament.

Lopez lost 7-6(5) 2-6 6-7(8) to Canada's Frank Dancevic.
