Somdev gets to career best 127

Courtesy his semifinal appearance at the Aptos Challenger, Somdev Devvarman jumped eight positions to achieve his career best singles ranking of 127 on Monday.

After a long time, Somdev achieved desired result on the circuit and was rewarded in the latest ATP rankings for his brilliant run.

Prakash Amritraj, however, continued his slide as his ranking dipped further to 264, a loss of 10 positions. Leander Paes (6) and Mahesh Bhupathi (8) had their doubles rankings unchanged.

In the women's rankings, Sania Mirza marginally improved both singles and doubles rankings. She rose two rungs to get to 83 in the singles and gained three position to be 39 in the doubles.
