Somdev Devvarman jumped 21 places up to 141st in singles, courtesy his quarter-final appearance while Rohan Bopanna's ATP doubles title at the SA Open helped him gain 19 spots to 69th in the rankings issued on Monday.
Somdev had stunned seasoned Xavier Malisse before losing to formidable David Ferrer in the quarter-finals in Johannesburg.
Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi won the doubles title at the same tournament by beating Karol Beck and Harold Levy in the final.
Meanwhile, Prakash Amritraj lost 22 positions to 222 and Leander Paes (7) and Mahesh Bhupathi (8) had their rankings unchanged.
In the WTA rankings, Sania Mirza has her singles and doubles ranking intact at 59 and 33 respectively.
