Shashank, a 14-Year-Old From Hyderabad, to Play in Wimbledon
Shashank will be one of the two Indians to compete in the UK National Finals of the 'Road to Wimbledon' tournament in August.

After winning singles and doubles titles in the Kolkata 'Road to Wimbledon' tournament, Hyderabad's 14-year-old Macherla Theertha Shashank is set for a dream debut at the prestigous Wimbledon courts.
According to a report in the Hindu, Shashank - ranked 3rd in India's U-14 category - is only one of the two youngsters from the country to get this opportunity.
The qualifying events of the 'Road to Wimbledon' event took place in four cities in India - Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi and Mumbai - with the finalists getting a chance to compete in the UK National Finals in August 2015.
In 2014, India's Siddhant Banthia had not only qualified for the RTW but also became the singles champion after defeating top seed Maxime Trenakhin.
Siddhant and Adil Kalyanpur had also claimed the doubles title while Indian girls Aarja Chakraborty and Shivani Ingle had ended runners-up in the girls' doubles.
The agreement between the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and the Wimbledon Foundation for the 'Road to Wimbledon' programme has been extended till 2017.
