Sania Mirza on Tuesday achieved a significant milestone after she completed a 80-week stay at the top of the Women's Tennis Association doubles rankings.
Mirza took to social micro-blogging site to inform her fans and followers about this incredible feat.
Only Martina Navratilova (181 weeks), Cara Black (145) and Liezel Huber (134) have stayed at the top for longer than the girl from Hyderabad.
The 29-year-old Sania Mirza has 8885 points in her kitty, as her former partner Martina Hingis is closing in with 8560 points.
Sania and Martina's joint stay at the top ended after the Indian took the numer uno position in August this year when she joined forces with Barbora Strycova to beat the Swiss and Coco Vandeweghe in Cincinnati Open final.
Interestingly, soon after a Sania shared the good news of her 80-week reign as the number one doubles player, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar got involved in a minor Twitter war with her.
