Top-ranked Dinara Safina was eyeing her seventh final of the year after beating Maria Elena Camerin of Italy 6-3, 6-0 to reach the Slovenia Open semifinals on Friday.
Safina conceded only nine points in the second set against unseeded Camerin, the 2006 runner-up.
On Saturday, Safina will meetAlberta Brianti of Italy, who reached her first career semifinals with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Camille Pin of France.
Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland, who reached her first WTA Tour quarterfinals at Birmingham last month, went one better in routing Rossana De Los Rios of Paraguay 6-1, 6-1.
She will next play 2008 champion and fifth-seeded Sara Errani of Italy, who ousted Croatian wild card Petra Martic, also by 6-1, 6-1.
