Newport (USA):
Last year's runner-up Prakash Amritraj breezed into the second round of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships with a straight-set victory over Thailand's Danai Udomchoke here.
The wild card Indian won 6-1, 6-4 in a 62-minute contest in the ATP grass court event.
Prakash saved all three break points he faced on serve while converting three of his five opportunities to storm into the second round.
He next faces the winner of the first round match between third-seeded American Sam Querrey and Spaniard Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo.
The 25-year-old Prakash had a dream run last year, reaching the final where he lost to Frenchman Fabrice Santoro. He also reached the quarter-finals as a qualifier in 2007. His father, Vijay Amritraj, won the title here back in 1980 and 1984.
