Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova were knocked out of the women's doubles event at the US Open after going down 6-7 (3), 1-6 to top seeds Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic on Tuesday.
Mirza-Strycova started well in the first set, and raced to a 5-2 lead. However, the Indo-Czech pair blew away the lead to lose the set in a tiebreaker.
The seventh seeds lost 3-7 in the first set tiebreaker.
In the second set, the top seeds dominated proceedings and promptly closed out the set 6-1 to knock Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova out of the tournament.
With Sania Mirza already out of the mixed doubles event, and Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna both having ended their campaigns at the tournament, no more Indians are in fray at US Open 2016.
