Andy Murray is currently the lone bright star in a Great Britain that is facing economic, political and sporting gloom. His performances have given the people something to cheer after the football team unceremoniously crashed out of Euro 2016 with a loss to minnows Iceland.
Murray is aware of the burden he carries. He is working with coach Ivan Lendl and is not taking his opponent, Canadian Milos Raonic lightly. The Brit, who broke the 77-year British jinx at Wimbledon when he won the title in 2013, will be aiming for a second crown. This represents his best chance, considering that both Novak Djokovic and Federer have been eliminated.
However, Raonic, who has enhanced his reputation in Wimbledon by defeating seven-time champion Federer, will be slightly nervous ahead of his maiden Grand Slam final. He was the first Canadian man to break into the top 10 and the first to go all the way. However, he will have to encounter a partisan British crowd if he has to scale the ultimate summit
