The Indo-Swiss pair raced to 6-1 6-3 victory over the unseeded Russian-Italian combo in one hour and 20 minutes to advance to the quarter-finals.
Sania and Martina will now face 12th seeded German-American combo of Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Coco Vandeweghe for a place in the semi-finals of the season's first Grand Slam.
