Eugenie Bouchard Hits the Beach to Make 2016 Tennis Season Brighter, Sunnier
Eugenie Bouchard of Canada has endured a torrid year after dropping to 49th in the world but seems to be overcoming her woes by letting her hair down in a break from pre-season training.
Touted as the next big thing in women's tennis and add to that her glamorous looks, Eugenie Bouchard had become one of the hottest properties when she made the final of the 2014 Wimbledon. But only just.
The 21-year-old Montreal girl has had a torrid 2015, one she will like to forget quickly. And that is exactly what the 2014 Australian and French Open semifinalist seems to be doing by hitting the beach in a break from pre-season training.
Bouchard posted a series of sizzling pictures on social platform - Instagram - from what seems to be an extravagant break to say the least.
She posted a picture alongside a friend in matching bikinis with the caption: '#twinning (sorry for 2 bikini pics in a row).
Bouchard clicked herself in a series of exotic locations and and even found time to meet none other than WWE and Hollywood star, Dwayne Johnson, also referred to as the 'Rock'.
The Canadian youngster, who had reached fifth in the WTA rankings, has slumped to a shocking 49th after a string of poor performances, juxtaposed with ill-timed injuries.
Besides, a poor season on-court, Bouchard also made news for an off-court controversy. She withdrew from her fourth-round US Open match against Roberta Vinci due to concussion, an injury she suffered after slipping and falling in the locker room.
Following the incident, Bouchard launched legal action against the United States Tennis Association and USTA National Tennis Center, alleging negligence.
Currently without a coach, Bouchard will need to put all that behind and hit the courts soon, though, as she opens her 2016 season at the Shenzhen Open on January 2 alongside Agnieszka Radwanska, Petra Kvitova and Britain's Johanna Konta.
