Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States lost to fourth-seeded Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-0 Saturday in the semifinal of the Open Gaz de France.
Kvitova broke Mattek-Sands' serve three times in each set and wrapped up the win in 59 minutes with the help of powerful serves.
Kvitova, a quarterfinalist at the Australian Open, will play either Australian Open champion Kim Clijsters or third-seeded Kaia Kanepi of Estonia in Sunday's final.
The unseeded Mattek-Sands won only 30 percent of second-serve points.
