Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek defeated Juan Monaco and Kei Nishikori 7-5, 6-4 to enter the men's doubles quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament here.

Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek defeated Juan Monaco and Kei Nishikori 7-5, 6-4 to enter the men's doubles quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament here.

The seventh seeded Indo-Czech pair edged out the Argentine-Japanese combine in the pre-quarterfinal on Tuesday. They next play Spain's Marc Lopez and Rafael Nadal later in the day.

India's Rohan Bopanna and Mahesh Bhupathi were knocked out in the first round.
