Ferrer leads Spain Davis Cup team

World number five David Ferrer will lead the Spanish challenge against Austria in the Davis Cup quarter-final tie to be staged in Oropesa from April 6-8.

World number five David Ferrer will lead the Spanish challenge against Austria in the Davis Cup quarter-final tie to be staged in Oropesa from April 6-8.

Ferrer will take over the leading role from former world number one Rafael Nadal, who has made himself unavailable for selection.

The rest of the team will comprise Nicolas Almagro, Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez, with Alex Corretja once again team captain.

Spain are the Davis Cup defending champions.
