Gijon, Spain:

With Rafael Nadal out injured again, David Ferrer and Nicolas Almagro will lead Spain's team for its Davis Cup semifinal against the United States.

Captain Alex Corretja named an unchanged team from the quarterfinals victory over Austria with the fifth-ranked Ferrer and No. 12 Almagro playing singles and Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez teaming up for doubles.

Nadal is unavailable for the Sept. 14-16 semifinal as he needs at least two months to recover from a partially torn tendon in his left knee. The third-ranked Nadal has been sidelined since a second-round loss at Wimbledon in June.

Corretja says former Davis Cup player Feliciano Lopez will be with the team as a practice partner.

Defending champion Spain is vying to reach its fourth final in five years.
