Defending champion Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark defeated Ekaterina Makarova of Russia 6-2, 6-0 in the second round of the ATP/WTA Indian Wells tournament on Saturday.
Fourth-seeded Wozniacki advances to the third round, where she will face Swedish No. 1 Sofia Arvidsson, who beat Monica Niculescu of Romania 6-3, 6-3.
