India entered into the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2024 with a 24-run win over Australia in their final Super Eight match at St Lucia. The victory in Group 1 took India to 6 points, a mark that neither of Australia or Afghanistan or Bangladesh could reach.

Rohit smashed the fastest fifty by a captain in the T20 World Cup history also became the first ever player to smash 200 T20I sixes. He also overtook Babar Azam as the leading run scorer in the shortest format of the game.
