Police is working to reunite Gusmari with a Special Olympics delegation and then he would take a flight back to Albania.
Carr said the athlete's family has been notified about finding him.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jack Richter said Gusmari, who was in the bowling competition, was at a festival at USC with his delegation on Saturday and got separated from his group when he went to the washroom.
It was found that he was missing only after coaches realised he had not come back at bed check.
