India Shooters Off Target in World Cup
India's men's pistol and women's rifle shooters failed to qualify for the World Cup finals.

India's shooters drew a blank on Day 5 of the ISSF World Cup in Gabala, Azerbaijan on Thursday. Olympian Gagan Narang was among several top shooters who failed to live up to their reputation. (Gagan Narang Books Place in 2016 Rio Olympics)
The Indian men's team in the 10m Air Pistol event and the women's team in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions event, failed to qualify for their respective final rounds. (Gagan Narang Chooses To Stay Away From Padma Controversy)
In the 50m Rifle 3 Positions event, Lajja Gauswami finished 27th in qualification with a score of 579; Elizabeth Susan Koshy shot 576 to finish in 43rd position and Anjum Moudgil was placed 46th with a score of 575. (Gagan Narang, Vijay Kumar Only Bright Spots)
In the 10m Air Pistol for men, Gurpreet Singh was placed 18th in qualification with a score of 578; Jitu Rai was in 20th place shooting 576 while Omkar Singh finished in 24th place with a score of 575.
In the 50m Rifle 3 Positions qualification for men, Surendra Singh Rathod was 12th with a score of 1165 in his elimination round, Chain Singh was at 15th position with a score of 1161 and Olympian Gagan Narang at 25th position with a score of 1158.
