Krunal Pandya bowled an economical over and controlled the flow of runs. In his previous over, he conceded just six runs as RCB desperately look for another wicket at the earliest.

KL Rahul is playing mature cricket and taking Delhi Capitals ahead in the run chase. In the previous over of Suyash Sharma, he hammered two boundaries and breached the 40-run mark. He is now inching towards his half-century.

The first six overs of Delhi Capitals' chase are done as RCB have perfectly dominated the show in the powerplay. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets but KL Rahul has managed to bring DC out of trouble with his partnership with Tristan Stubbs. Both the batters will be crucial in the upcoming overs.

OUT!!! Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets his second wicket of the day and this time, he traps Karun Nair for five. Karun walks out of the crease and slashes at this short of a good length ball outside off. The ball flies off the outer half of the bat and Salt sprints to his left at deep backward point. Seeing this, Anushka Sharma gives a standing ovation and celebrates the wicket.

Despite going one down in the first over, Delhi Capitals gain some momentum as KL Rahul and Karun Nair take on Josh Hazlewood. In the previous over of the pacer, the duo scored 13 runs. This included a six from Rahul and a boundary from Karun.

OUT!!! Bhuvneshwar Kumar strikes in the first over and dismisses Pathum Nissanka for one. Bhuvi shits Nissanka on the pads as the on-field umpire signals LBW. The DRS also shows that the ball was actually hitting the stumps. First wicket gone for DC in the chase of 176 as Virat Kohli joyously celebrates the moment.

Hello and welcome to the second innings of the IPL 2026 match between RCB and DC. In the chase of 176, KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka have opened the proceedings for DC. The openers will be eyeing some boundaries in the early stages of the game to gain the momentum. On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be bowling the first over for RCB. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have ended their innings at 175/8 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. For RCB, Phil Salt scored 63, while Tim David scored 26. For DC, Axar Patel, Lungi Ngidi, and Kuldeep Yadav scalped two wickets each. 

OUT!!! Krunal Pandya departs for 12 after getting run out by Lungi Ngidi. Playing a shot Ngidi's ball, Pandya runs for a single but Jitesh Sharma quickly completes his part but he fails to reach the spot on time. As a result, KL Rahul receives the ball and gives it back to Ngidi, who then removes the bails at the non-striker's end.

OUT!!! Kuldeep Yadav strikes again and dismisses Romario Shepherd for 1. Kuldeep hits directly onto the pads of Shepherd as the on-field umpire signals LBW out. Despite going for the DRS review, the decision stays in the favour of DC as RCB go six down.

OUT!!! Axar Patel, the captain, comes to DC's rescue and scalps the big wicket of Tim David for 26. Slows it up and bowls it wide for David to reach out. He can't get close to the ball, only manages to get a leading edge that lobs to T Natarajan. Fifth wicket gone for RCB.

Tim David and Jitesh Sharma are forming a good partnership and taking four-down RCB ahead in the game. In the previous over of Mukesh Kumar, the duo scored seven runs. They will be aiming for some boundaries in the upcoming overs.

OUT!!! Mukesh Kumar gets his first wicket and he traps RCB skipper Rajat Patidar, who departs for 8. Mukesh delivers an outside off ball, which hits the thick edge of Patidar's bat. Wicketkeeper KL Rahul then completes a simple catch behind the stumps as RCB lose their fourth wicket.

WOAH! Despite losing the wicket of Phil Salt, RCB are refusing to slow down as Tim David is dealing in boundaries. In the previous over of Lungi Ngidi, the Australia star hit a six and a boundary as the pacer leaked 12 runs. With this, David also completed his 1,000 runs in the IPL.

OUT!!! After getting hit for a six, Kuldeep Yadav makes a brilliant comeback to dismiss Phil Salt for 63. Salt hits it hard for a six but fails to time the shot as Tristan Stubbs completes a good catch at the long-off. A big wicket gone for RCB as Rajat Patidar now needs to form a partnership with Tim David.

FIFTY!!! Phil Salt hammered a huge six on Kuldeep Yadav's delivery and brings up his half-century in style. It is his second half-century of the season and he brings it up in 30 balls. Terrific batting.

Despite losing the wicket of Virat Kohli, RCB are still enjoying the momentum as Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal are forming a good partnership. Salt has breached the 40-run mark and now inching towards his half-century.

OUT!!! Lungi Ngidi strikes for Delhi Capitals as he dismisses Virat Kohli for 19. Scrambled seam delivery on a length outside off, Kohli shimmies down the track to try and go over the infield. Gets the placement wrong and picks out Nissanka at deep cover. First wicket gone for RCB.

Phil Salt goes crazy and unleashes his wrath on Auqib Nabi Dar. In the previous over of the pacer, Salt hammered two boundaries and a six as Nabi leaked 18 runs. With this, RCB also went past the 50-run mark.

Currently, Virat Kohli is second highest run-scorer in the powerplay of IPL 2026 with 160 runs. If he scores 19 runs more, he will surpass Rajasthan Royals' Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to take the top spot. Sooryavanshi is first with 179 runs in the powerplay so far.

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt are forming a good opening partnership and providing RCB with the momentum. In the second over by Mukesh Kumar, the duo scored eight runs. This included a boundary from Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are off to a terrific start against Delhi Capitals. In the first over by Auqib Nabi, the duo of Phil Salt and Virat Kohli scored 13 runs. This include one boundary from both the batters. Nabi, who was bought by DC for Rs 8.4 crore, is eyeing some wickets in the early stages.

The IPL 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals finally begins. For RCB, Virat Kohli and Phil Salt will be opening the proceedings. On the other hand, Auqib Nabi will be bowling the first over for DC. 

"It's an afternoon game here at the Chinnaswamy. I tell you what, it's so hot. I spotted a few clouds, actually, and there's a slight breeze. The hope is that it'll still be on when this one begins. Let's get to the dimensions. Sixes galore here and more in the middle this time around. No real bias, just one metre in terms of square hitting (65m and 64m). And 73m down the ground. That's not a lot for these guys these days. Now, look at the surface. Again, I'll say it looks good. Looks very similar to the previous wicket they've played on here, a little bit drier, a little bit less grass. And obviously because it's a day game, expect it to be a bit slower. Expect the spinners to come into it," reckon Pommie Mbangwa and Faf du Plessis.

"I am going to bowl first. The wicket looks nice and hard. Since it’s a day game, it might be a bit slow. Also, Chinnaswamy is usually a chasing ground, so we would like to chase. That’s why we decided to bowl first. We are going with the same XI. (On having a long break) If you’re winning, the break would be bad. But since we lost the last two matches, the break helped us regroup. Now we are back together as a unit and ready to start with fresh momentum. Obviously we are looking at the opposition but we are focusing on our own strengths and sticking to our plans. We'll follow our plans and see what happens," said DC skipper Axar Patel.

A great news for all the RCB fans out there as Virat Kohli seems to be fit. Kohli, who played as an impact player in the previous game, can be seen practising without any bandage support and looking very fit. Hopefully, he will be out there to field as well.

Skipper Axar Patel too has been a big letdown this season, managing just three wickets and as many runs across four matches. Similarly, inconsistency plagues them in bowling too. Star left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav looks totally out of sorts having taken just three wickets after leaking nearly 10 runs an over, while pacers Mukesh Kumar and T Natarajan's good moments have been few and far between.

Delhi Capitals are still searching for capable shoulders to scaffold their batting. They have some experienced batters such as KL Rahul, Pathum Nissanka, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller and Nitish Rana but none of them have been consistent so far, and even a fifth place on the table with four points looks like an exaggeration at this point.

Virat Kohli only played as an Impact Player in the last game. There isn't absolute clarity on his role for the franchise for the Delhi match. Here's what Josh Hazlewood said on Kohli:

As RCB players arrive on the field for their 100th home game at Chinnaswamy, they will be wearing the alternate green jerseys as part of their 'Green Initiative'. The Bengaluru side is currently second in the points table, with just one loss from the first five games.

The clash against the Delhi Capitals for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be the 100th game at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. No other IPL team has managed to play 100 games in its home venue yet, with RCB becoming the first one to do so!

Focus has largely remained on Virat Kohli, and the batting talisman has not disappointed his fans either, holding the Orange Cap for the time being. But even Kohli would acknowledge that the RCB batting no longer solely depends on him. Skipper Rajat Patidar, Devdutt Padikkal, Phil Salt and Tim David have all left their indelible marks on RCB's victories this season.

Almost a month into IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have evolved into the most complete unit in the competition and they will be eager to strengthen their hold on this tag when they face the struggling Delhi Capitals.
