The home franchise team might be in the doldrums and not in the position to make it to the semi-finals, but Mumbaikars will still get a chance to watch two out of the three knock-out games, including the tournament finale, of the ongoing World Series Hockey.
Mumbai will host the second semi-final of the eight-team event on April 1 and the summit clash the next day. Both matches will commence at 9 pm, a media release from the organisers Nimbus Sport said.
Bangalore, home of Karnataka Lions, will host the first semi-final on April 1, scheduled to begin at 7 pm.
The MHA Mahindra Stadium here, which underwent massive revamping for the WSH, was chosen out of eight venues across India based on the feedback from the players playing in the league that "the quality of the turf and floodlights is superb".
"The response from the fans has been overwhelming at all the eight venues, but we had to finally zero in on two venues. WSH wanted to give the best makeover to the MHA Mahindra Stadium, and we are pleased that the players are very happy with the quality of the turf and the floodlights," said Event Director, Preeti Mehta.
