Mumbai:
The touring France team trounced the Bombay Hockey Association (BHA) President's Eleven-A team 4-0 in the friendly match at the Mahindra Stadium today.
The hosts were no match to the much fitter and faster Frenchmen, who had beaten the BHA-B team 4-2 in the first friendly a couple of days ago.
Forward Stephen Jaquet opened the account for the visitors in the 26th minute when he smartly sent home a rebound.
Surprisingly France did not utilise even a single penalty corner in the entire match while the hosts got three but failed to convert even one.
In the second half Fredrick Soyez made it 2-0 with a field goal while Thomas Raisin increased the lead off Fredrick Verrier pass in the 67th minute.
Soyez, who played his heart out, then rounded off the tally when he sounded board in the last minute of the match.
The Frenchmen will now travel to Hyderabad to play two more friendly matches against the Indian junior team before proceeding to Delhi to play a two-match Test series on December 27 and 28. (PTI)
