The world's No.1 golfer Rory McIlroy confirmed here on Monday that he had signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with American sportswear giant Nike.

The world's No.1 golfer Rory McIlroy confirmed here on Monday that he had signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with American sportswear giant Nike.
No exact details of what the deal was worth were released at an announcement ceremony in Abu Dhabi, but press reports have estimated it could bring the 23-year-old Northern Irishman up to $250 million (190 million euros) over 10 years.
"I chose Nike for a number of reasons," said McIlroy. "It's a company and a brand that really resonates with me. It's young. It's athletic. It's innovative. They are committed to being the best as am I."
