London:
Former French player Marie-Laure de Lorenzi has been named vice captain of Europe's 2007 Solheim Cup team.
De Lorenzi, who played in three Solheim Cups, was picked on Wednesday by captain Helen Alfredsson for the event at Halmstad Golfklubb in Sweden on Sept. 14-16, 2007. The biennial competition pits the Europeans against a US team.
''I had a wonderful time playing in the competition and it will be fantastic to be working on the other side for the first time,'' De Lorenzi said.
De Lorenzi, 45, played 17 years on the Ladies European Tour and won 19 times in 223 tournaments. She twice won the European tour money title. (AP)
