Brent Geiberger wins Chrysler Classic

Brent Geiberger created history when he won the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro in North Carolina, 28 years after his father, Al, won the same event. It is the first time a father and son have won the same PGA Tour event. Geiberger birdied the first hole of his final round to take sole possession of the lead, which he never surrendered en route to a two-stroke victory over Michael Allen at Forest Oaks. Geiberger carded a closing six-under-par 66 to finish at 18 under par on 270. Allen shot a 67 to close on 272, with Chris Smith (67) a further stroke back in third. (AP)
