Sao Paulo:
Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone has given his seal of approval to Brazil's revamped Interlagos Grand Prix circuit.
But the track's $65-million revamp won't be fully ready in time for this year's race on November 15, according to local officials. Work on new pit garages will not be completed until next year, reports Xinhua.
The venue's paddock area has been expanded while the pit lane has also been refurbished, meeting the demands of teams and F1 organisers.
"I am satisfied, but I'm not surprised," Ecclestone said on Wednesday. "This was promised for 2014."
