Rotterdam:
Feyenoord drew 0-0 with Lokomotiv Sofia in Rotterdam on Thursday, a result which saw the Dutch side advance to the second round of the UEFA Cup.
The teams drew 2-2 in the first leg in Sofia two weeks ago, but Feyenoord go through on away goals.
After a 2-2 draw in Bulgaria in the first leg, the onus was on Lokomotiv to find an away goal to boost their chances of securing a place in the second round.
Dull game
But in a game of few chances it was the home side who threatened first - Nicky Hofs shooting just over the crossbar in the seventh minute.
Ten minutes before half-time, the visitors came agonisingly close to finding a crucial away goal.
Tsvetan Genkov exchanged a neat one-two pass with Sasa Antunovic, but could only poke his shot wide of the post with only goalkeeper Henk Timmer to beat. So, a dull first half.
And the second half followed in kind, with little in the way of goalmouth action. In injury time, Feyenoord's Jonathan De Guzman found himself with a clear sight of goal.
But the midfielder shot wildly over the bar and it was to remain goalless.
The final score 0-0 - 2-2 on aggregate - but Feyenoord advance on away goals.
Their name goes into the draw for the UEFA Cup's group stages.(AP)
