London:
Teddy Sheringham scored a dramatic 85th-minute winner to help beat Bolton (3-2) and take Tottenham into the fifth place in the English premiership table. The Tottenham captain spared the blushes of his goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, who had earlier handed Bolton a 56th-minute equaliser when he allowed Rod Wallace's shot to slip through his grasp.
Tottenham Hotspurs were a goal down after seven minutes against the visiting Bolton Wanderers. Michael Ricketts fired the ball past Neil Sullivan from just inside the penalty area for his 11th goal of the season.
Spurs could have levelled the match four minutes later. But for a brilliant save off a Christian Ziege freekick by the Bolton keeper. The visitors' keeper kept his side in the lead with another impressive save.
However Tottenham finally got the equalizer a minute into the second half. Gustavo Poyet with the header off a rebound from the post scored his sixth goal of the season.
The drama switched immediately to the other end as Bolton were denied what looked like a penalty. Ricketts was bought down in the area by Teddy Sheringham but the referee waved it off.
The Spurs went straight up the other end and worked the ball to Les Ferdinand who smashed it past the Bolton keeper as Tottenham went ahead 2-1.
Bolton, however equalized in the 56th minute, Rod Wallace sending the ball under Sullivan's body and over the line.
Spurs found the winner five minutes from time. Sheringham buried a header past the Bolton keeper off a freekick. The 3-2 win moves Tottenham to fifth place in the premiership.
