Strasbourg:
Olympique Marseille travelled to Racing Strasbourg on Saturday looking to move up into second place in Ligue 1 ahead of Lille, whose game at Monaco had been postponed as a mark of respect for Prince Rainier III who died on Wednesday. Strasbourg, 14th heading into the match, almost took the lead in the first minute. But Fabien Barthez proved alert as he turned Mamadou Niang's shot around the post. Marseille, meanwhile, belied their position among the top teams in France, as they produced a decidedly lacklustre performance. Their best chance in a drab first half came in the 26th minute, Steve Marlet thwarted by Stephane Cassard as he attempted to turn in Koke's cross. The second half was no more exciting than the first, and it seemed as though the game would end goalless. But Marseille were to be stunned in the 93rd minute. Karim Hagui flicked on Yacine Abdessaki's corner - and Senegalese striker Niang brought down the ball before firing home past Barthez. Lyon have 66 points from 32 games, while Marseille are level on 52 points with second-placed Lille, who have a game in hand. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
