London:
Roy Keane arrived back in England a few days ago after he was thrown out of the Irish team camp in Japan. In an interview he indicated that he was ready for a rapprochement but not an apology.
"My conscience is clear. As I said, I know I'm probably repeating myself but if there was any doubt in my mind that, I'd be back like a shot. But I won't accept it, I can't accept it," said Roy Keane.
The Irish coach Mick Mcarthy against whom Keane had the outburst however didna€™t need to respond to this plea. Keane's teammates did that for him. They said in a letter, a€œthe players are in no doubt that the interests of the squad are best served without Roy's presence."
So that might seem to be the end of the matter unless of course Keane is willing to apologize.
