Hamburg:

Bayer Leverkusen's former Germany goalkeeper Rene Adler is poised to sign for Hamburg, the club's sporting director Frank Arnesen told the Hamburger Morgenpost on Thursday.

"The decision will be taken in the coming days, probably this week," said Arnesen, with reports suggesting the 10-time capped international will sign a four-year deal.

The 27-year-old underwent knee surgery last July and missed the first half of the season, but has returned to training with Leverkusen where he has a contract until the end of the season.

"The knee isn't a problem," Adler insisted.
