Madrid:

Real Madrid has agreed to buy Feyenoord defender Royston Drenthe.

The Spanish champions also completed the signing of Netherlands international Arjen Robben from Chelsea, radio station Cadena SER reported on Thursday.

Drenthe will sign a five-year contract if he passes a medical exam, Madrid said on its website.

The club did not give the terms of Drenthe's transfer but sports daily AS said Madrid had agreed to a fee of $18 million for the Netherlands under-21 player.

Cadena SER said both players would be presented Friday and would be available to play in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on August 11, when Madrid plays Copa del Rey champion Sevilla.

Madrid president Ramon Calderon had been courting the two players throughout the summer.

The 23-year-old Robben has been at Chelsea since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2004, scoring 19 goals in 104 appearances at Stamford Bridge. Media reports said Robben would cost Madrid $48 million. Drenthe had been with Feyenoord since 2005.
