QPR midfielder Esteban Granero joined Spanish top-flight club Real Sociedad on a season-long loan on Thursday.
Former Real Madrid star Granero endured a disappointing time at Loftus Road after moving to west London for £9 million (10.5 million euros, US$14m) last August.
The 26-year-old couldn't stop Harry Redknapp's team suffering relegation from the Premier League last term and he has now been allowed to return home to Spain.
"Esteban Granero has returned to Spain to join Real Sociedad on loan," a QPR statement said.
"The 26-year-old midfielder has penned a season-long loan deal with the La Liga outfit."
Granero made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops, scoring one goal.
The arrangement also offers the San Sebastian-based side the option to purchase the player from QPR at the end of the season.
