Title chasers Ponte Preta and Palmeiras played out a goalless draw in round 28 of the Brazilian Championship in Campinas City outside Sao Paulo on Wednesday.
The result did neither side much good, as leaders Santos beat Juventude to open up a three point lead in the standings.
Ponte Preta moved up one place to fifth in the table, with Palmeiras remaining in fourth place. (AP)
