Nuri Sahin returns to Borussia Dortmund

Sahin led Dortmund to the first of its consecutive titles in 2011 and then left for Real Madrid, where his career was slowed by a knee injury.

Dortmund:

Midfielder Nuri Sahin is returning to Borussia Dortmund, the club he helped win the Bundesliga title before unsuccessful stints with Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Dortmund presented Sahin at a news conference Friday.

Sahin led Dortmund to the first of its consecutive titles in 2011 and then left for Real Madrid, where his career was slowed by a knee injury.

He spent the first half of the current season on loan in Liverpool.
