Lionel Messi's brother was reportedly hit by a Chilean supporter after a heated verbal altercation during the Copa America final between Argentina and hosts Chile.

In Santiago for the final between Argentina and hosts Chile, family members of Messi - including brother Rodrigo - were targeted by a section of Chilean fans. The family of the Barcelona star was quickly rushed to the television cabin at the Estadio Nacional Stadium, for safety reasons.
In the match that was eventually won by Chile 4-0 on penalties, it was reported that fellow Argentine striker Sergio Aguero's family was also insulted by the Chileans.
