Madrid:
Real Madrid have appointed former Brazil manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo as their new coach on Thursday in a desperate bid to revive a dismal season for the world's soccer powerhouse.
Luxemburgo is their third coach this year.
Luxemburgo has left newly crowned Brazilian champions Santos to finish this season with Real Madrid and stay for at least one more.
He has said that the team's fortunes will improve, but only through adherence to his four soccer tenets - discipline, teamwork, hard work and professionalism.
Real Madrid currently lie fifth in the league 13 points behind leaders and arch rivals Barcelona. (AP)
