De Kuip:
Feyenoord came back from a goal down to beat Twente Enschede 2-1 and revive their stuttering season on Thursday.
Still smarting from a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Ajax at the weekend, the Rotterdam side almost made a dream start, but saw Luiz Andre Bahia's goal-bound header cleared off the line by Jeroen Heubach.
Twente, though, have been the surprise package in this season's Eredivisie, and they took the lead after half an hour.
Kennedy Bakircioglu's free-kick looked to be heading out for a goal-kick before Niels Oude Kamphuis managed to clip the ball back across goal.
Ramon Zomer's header was cleared off line by Theo Lucius.
Power shot
Feyenoord thought the danger had abated, until the ball fell invitingly into the path of Sharbel Touma, who powered his shot past Henk Timmer and into the roof of the net.
Feyenoord were denied an equaliser just before the break, as Twente goalkeeper Sander Boschker acrobatically kept out Nicky Hofs free-kick, which was heading for the top corner.
But Feyenoord did indeed draw level just a minute into the second half.
There appeared to be little danger when Stein Huysegems collected the ball on the left touchline.
Pressing for win
After cutting in from the wing, the Twente defenders stood off, and Huysegems was able to play a one-two with Danny Buys before firing a low shot past Boschker.
Boosted by the goal, the home side pressed for a winner.
It looked as though they would have to settle for a draw, until five minutes before full time, when Jonathan de Guzman gave the De Kuip the goal it had been waiting for -- the substitute's superb free-kick sailing over Boschker and into the top corner to make it 2-1.
Twente had a golden opportunity to snatch an equaliser in the dying seconds.
But Orlando Engelaar could do no better than scuff his shot straight at Henk Timmer.
The final score 2-1 - Jonathan de Guzman the hero for Feyenoord, with a goal that the suspended Pierre Van Hooijdonk, watching in the crowd, would have been proud of.
They move up to seventh place - 10 points behind league leaders Ajax. Twente are now fifth. (AP)
