Albufeira:

England fans clashed with Portuguese riot police in Albufeira, southern Portugal, early on Tuesday. About a half dozen fans were injured and several were arrested. Police moved into an area of bars in Albufeira, a coastal vacation resort about 200 km south of Lisbon, after midnight when a group of fans spilled into the street and stopped traffic. Media footage showed around 200 fans throwing glasses and bottles at police. Riot police and mounted police rushed at the crowd and dispersed the fans. Officers arrested at least three fans and half a dozen ambulances took away the injured. Police cordoned off several streets in the town centre and patrolled the area with dogs. (AP)
