Putting an end to all speculations, Armando Colaco today resigned from the post of East Bengal head coach, even as Dutchman Eelco Schattorie is expected to succeed the Goan this evening.
"Armando Colaco era is over, hope the club rises to success. I'm a professional, that's why I came to training," the most successful Indian club coach told reporters, bidding an emotional farewell.
Meanwhile, East Bengal have called a press interaction in the evening, where the former United SC coach is expected to take charge and is likely to have first training session.
Making an earnest plea, the I-League winning former Dempo coach said, "You must give time to the new coach, without running after the success. I was really upset yesterday (after the meeting with the club) but everything settled amicably.
"I've told the players to co-operate with the new coach and play well, and help out each other." Colaco said that the city ISL franchise Atletico de Kolkata are in talks with him for a youth development programme.
"I've got plenty of offers, including youth development with ATK, and coaching with Sporting Clube de Goa, but I'm yet to take a decision," he said.
