Moyes's men had won just one of their first eight La Liga fixtures this season, but were the better side from start to finish, leaving Levante still mired in the bottom three.
Former Arsenal forward Carlos Vela got the visitors off to a perfect start when he made the most of some good fortune on eight minutes to tap home his first goal of the season at the second attempt after his initial effort was saved by Ruben Martinez.
Imanol Agirretxe then doubled the Basques' lead 10 minutes before half-time with a neat header from Xabi Prieto's cross.
Two goals in the final 10 minutes sealed a perfect afternoon for Moyes as Asier Illarramendi bundled home his first goal since returning to the club from Real Madrid in August. While Vela rounded off the scoring with a neat chip from a narrow angle.
And Levante's miserable day was summed up a minute from time when Brazilian forward Deyverson was shown a second yellow card for diving inside the area.
