Buenos Aires, Argentina:
Spain will miss Jose Antonio Reyes. Argentina will be without Hernan Crespo and defender Gabriel Heinze.
Leg injuries will prevent all three from playing in next week's friendly in Murcia, Spain. Crespo suffered a pulled muscle in his left leg during Inter's 1-1 draw with Cagliari on Sunday, and Manchester United's Heinze is still recovering from knee pain, the Argentine Football Association said.
Early on Tuesday, Reyes withdrew from Spain's side due to a torn muscle in his right thigh.
In a statement, AFA said the injuries to Crespo and Heinze were not serious, but "Coach Alfio Basile has taken the precautionary step of exempting them from the match" on October 11.
Still, Heinze's troubles were enough to force him from the field on Sunday as Manchester United moved back into first place in the English Premier League by beating Newscastle 2-0.
The exhibition in Spain was to have marked the return of both Crespo and Heinze to La Albiceleste since the World Cup. Neither was called for Argentina's 3-0 loss last month to archrival Brazil. (AP)
