Bayern Munich suffered a set back for Saturday's Bundesliga showdown against Borussia Dortmund after Franck Ribery was ruled out with fractured ribs.
The 30-year-old winger returned from France's World Cup qualifier victory against Ukraine in Paris with a rib fracture, a scan in Munich revealed on Thursday, and he misses the game at Dortmund's Westfalenstadion.
"It is, of course, a huge pity, I'd really wanted to play in this top game in Dortmund," said Ribery, with Bayern four-points clear at the top of the Bundesliga with Dortmund second in the table.
"But I am sure that the team can do it without me."
The injury means Ribery is doubtful for Bayern's Champions League game against CSKA Moscow next Wednesday with the defending champions already through to the knock-out stages.
