Madrid:
FC Barcelona wants to loan Argentina's Javier Saviola to another club because it has enough forwards, media reports said on Wednesday.
Atletico Madrid and Espanyol are reportedly keen on Saviola, who is under contract until 2006 and who spent last season on loan at AS Monaco.
"Saviola serves Barcelona, but for this Barcelona other players serve better," the club's soccer director, Aitor "Txiki" Begiristain, was quoted as saying by sports daily Mundo Deportivo on Wednesday.
The Spanish champion's first-choice striker, Samuel Eto'o, scored 24 goals last season, while Sweden's Henrik Larsson and Argentine rookie Maxi Lopez also provide the team with attacking options.
Saviola, who joined Barcelona in 2001 from River Plate, has scored 44 goals in 105 appearances. (AP)
