Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant is among those reportedly interested in the vacant Sydney FC coaching job, but captain Brett Emerton says the A-League team should take its time finding a fulltime replacement for Ian Crook.
Crook resigned Sunday after his team, which includes former Italy and Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero, lost for the fourth time in six starts this season. The interim coach is former assistant Steve Corica.
Emerton says "it's not panic stations - I think the team should make sure they appoint the right manager."
Australian media reported on Wednesday that Grant's manager had contacted the Sydney club. Another former Chelsea manager, Gianluca Vialli, and former Manchester United captain and Ipswich manager Roy Keane are other international options being mentioned.
