Hungary's Viktor Kassai will take charge of Spain's first Euro 2012 match in Gdansk, northern Poland, on Sunday, governing body UEFA said in a statement on Thursday.

The holders and world champions, who are aiming to become the first side to retain the title, take on Cesare Prandelli's Italy, recently rocked by fresh allegations of illegal betting in the domestic leagues.

Italy's Nicola Rizzoli will referee France's first Group D match against England in Donetsk, Ukraine, while Cuneyt Cakir of Turkey will officiate for Ukraine-Sweden in Kiev, both on Monday.
