The left ankle injury Yoann Gourcuff sustained in France's 3-2 victory over Iceland was "nothing serious", coach Laurent Blanc said Monday.

"He received a heavy blow on his ankle," said Blanc.

"He's had recurrent problems with this ankle. There's nothing serious but he won't take part in training today (Monday), just the bike."

Gourcuff was replaced by Franck Ribery in the 75th minute of Sunday's match, the crowd at Valenciennes whistling at the Lyon midfielder as he made his way off the pitch.

The 25-year-old has made only 13 league appearances for Lyon this season due to injury, and has struggled to make an impression at the Stade de Gerland ever since signing from Bordeaux in August 2010 for a reported fee of 22 million euros ($28.9m).

Blanc added that he would reveal which two players would be left at home when he unveils his final 23-man squad on Tuesday.
