Sunderland has signed Italy midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini from Juventus for four years for 7.5 million euros ($9.8 million).
The 28-year-old Giaccherini has agreed to a deal with the Premier League club after winning back-to-back Serie A titles with Juventus.
Juventus says Sunderland will pay the transfer fee over three years.
Giaccherini has played 14 times for Italy, including at last month's Confederations Cup in Brazil.
