Chelsea loans midfielder Oriol Romeu to Valencia

Valencia will compete in the Europa League under new coach Miroslav Djukic after finishing fifth in the Spanish league last season.

Valencia:

Chelsea has agreed to loan midfielder Oriol Romeu to Spanish club Valencia for one season.

He signed with Valencia after passing a medical exam by team doctors on Friday. Romeu was injured last December and needed surgery.

The 21-year-old Romeu, who was born not far from Valencia, joined Chelsea in 2011 after coming up through Barcelona's youth academy.

Valencia will compete in the Europa League under new coach Miroslav Djukic after finishing fifth in the Spanish league last season.
