Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola were friends when the pair worked together at Barcelona in the late 90s. However, over a decade later, things changed when Mourinho took over the managerial reins at Real Madrid in 2010.
The duo quickly became foes as Guardiola's Barcelona and Mourinho's Real battled each other for major titles. The 2010-11 season saw the pair engage in a public feud in the dying stages of the season. Barcelona won the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League titles, while Real Madrid had to be content with the Copa del Rey trophy.
A season later, Mourinho's Real trumped Barcelona to the league title, as the rivalry between the two managers intensified. Four seasons later, the two highly successful managers are in the same league once again, and both will be looking to start off their first Manchester derby assignment with a win.
On the other hand, Guardiola will also come face-to-face with an old enemy in Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish forward had a major fall-out with Guardiola during his only season at the Catalan club, and later said the Spanish manager was 'not a man'.
